Introduction

Spiral Abyss Floor 12 is Genshin Impact's ultimate endgame challenge, demanding optimal team synergy, proper energy management, and adaptive counter-building against ever-changing enemy lineups. Since Version 5.x, the Abyss has consistently featured 3 million+ total HP pools per chamber, multi-wave enemy compositions, and elemental shields that punish unoptimized teams. This guide presents six battle-tested team compositions that have demonstrated consistent 36-star clears across multiple Abyss rotations. Each team includes detailed rotation scripting, Energy Recharge requirements, and flexible substitute characters so you can adapt them to your roster.

All six comps target Floor 12 specifically. For Floors 9-11, any well-invested team with 80+ level characters should clear comfortably — these lineups are for when the Abyss Lectors, Consecrated Beasts, and multi-wave boss chambers demand maximum output.

Understanding Floor 12 Meta Requirements

Before diving into specific teams, understand what Floor 12 demands:

Chamber TypeTypical Requirements
Single Boss (ASIMON, Wenut, PMA, Coppelia)High single-target DPS, no strict element check
Multi-Wave Mobs (Eremites, Kairagi, Rifthounds)AoE/cleave damage, grouping capability, healing for rifthounds
Elemental Checks (Heralds, Lectors, Abyss Mages)Specific element counter (Hydro for Pyro Lector, Cryo for Hydro Herald, etc.)
Shield/Mechanic (Baptist, Iniquitous, Suanni)Element application speed over raw damage; Dendro/Electro for Quicken

A successful Floor 12 team must clear its half in under 90 seconds (to leave 90+ seconds for the other half). This means ~50K+ team DPS is the floor for comfort.

Team 1: National Variants (Raiden National / International)

Core Shell: Xiangling + Bennett + Xingqiu/Yelan + Flex

National teams have been meta-defining since Version 1.0 and remain among the most consistent Abyss clearers due to snapshot mechanics, absurd off-field damage, and Bennett's ATK buff scaling the entire team.

[Raiden National] Raiden Shogun / Xiangling / Xingqiu / Bennett

RoleCharacterKey GearER Target
On-Field DriverRaiden Shogun4pc Emblem of Severed Fate, The Catch R5 / Engulfing Lightning220%+
Off-Field PyroXiangling4pc Emblem, The Catch / Staff of Scarlet Sands / Wavebreaker's Fin180-200%
Off-Field HydroXingqiu4pc Emblem, Sacrificial Sword R3+180-200%
Buffer/HealerBennett4pc Noblesse Oblige, Sapwood Blade / Aquila Favonia (highest base ATK)200%+

Rotation (21-second cycle):

  1. Raiden E (Eye of Stormy Judgment) — applies Electro coordinated attack
  2. Xingqiu E → Q (if Sacrificial Sword procs, E again) — Guhua Sword: Raincutter active
  3. Bennett Q → E — Fantastic Voyage ATK buff; funnel particles to Xiangling
  4. Xiangling Q → E — Pyronado snapshots Bennett's ATK buff
  5. Raiden Q → N4C ×3 + N1C — Musou Shinsetsu 7-second damage window while all off-field abilities are active
  6. Repeat from step 1 after Raiden's burst ends

Why This Works: Xiangling's Pyronado snapshots Bennett's ATK buff (stays for entire 14s duration). Raiden's burst regenerates 20-25 flat Energy to the entire team, solving Xiangling's ER needs. Xingqiu's Rain Swords provide damage reduction and minor healing. Overload (Electro + Pyro) triggered by Raiden adds AoE stagger.

Energy Requirements (Critical):

  • Raiden at 220% ER: bursts every rotation with 2 E casts
  • Xiangling at 180% ER: if you funnel Bennett's E particles twice to Xiangling before her Q
  • Xingqiu with Sacrificial Sword R3: 180% ER is plenty; without Sac Sword, you need 240%+
  • Bennett: 200% ER — use his E twice per rotation if running low-ER weapons

Substitutions:

  • Raiden → Fischl (C6) — lower team damage but works; Raiden → Sucrose (driver/flex) creates Sucrose National
  • Xingqiu → Yelan — higher single-target damage, loses damage reduction and minor healing
  • Xiangling cannot be replaced — she IS the National variant

[International] Tartaglia / Xiangling / Kazuha / Bennett

The "International" team (named on the CN server) replaces Raiden with Tartaglia (Childe) and swaps Xingqiu for an Anemo grouper.

Rotation (24-second cycle):

  1. Childe E (one tap to apply Hydro) → swap out immediately
  2. Bennett Q → E
  3. Kazuha E (tap) → Q (swirl Pyro from Bennett's self-application)
  4. Xiangling Q → E (Pyronado snapshots)
  5. Childe E → Q (ranged burst for Vaporize) → N2C spam for 9 seconds (until Pyronado ends)
  6. Kazuha E for particles during Childe's downtime
  7. Repeat — use Childe's downtime for battery

Critical Notes: Childe's melee stance duration must end before Pyronado expires. Count 9 seconds from Pyronado activation. Kazuha must double-swirl Hydro AND Pyro for full buffs — a precise technique: apply Hydro with Childe E, then Bennett Q self-applies Pyro, then Kazuha E pulls both auras for Hydro+Pyro VV shred.

Team 2: Hyperbloom (Nahida / Xingqiu / Kuki Shinobu / Flex)

Hyperbloom is the highest floor/lowest investment team in Genshin Impact. At full EM investment on Kuki Shinobu (or Raiden), Hyperbloom produces 30-35K damage per seed with zero crit dependency.

RoleCharacterKey GearMain Stat PriorityTarget

Flex SlotYelan / Fischl / Alhaitham / KokomiVariesVariesDepends on flex

Rotation (20-second cycle):

  1. Nahida E (hold, mark all enemies) → Q (Shrine of Maya, 200+ EM share to Kuki)
  2. Xingqiu E → Q
  3. Flex character abilities (if Yelan: E → Q; if Fischl: E or Q; if Kokomi: E)
  4. Kuki Shinobu E (Sanctifying Ring) — triggers Hyperbloom on existing Dendro Cores
  5. If Nahida is on-field: N2C spam to generate more Dendro Cores
  6. Refresh Kuki's E at ~12 seconds (her skill has 100% uptime at C2, 12s duration with 15s cooldown)
  7. Restart rotation when Xingqiu's burst ends

Why Hyperbloom Dominates: Hyperbloom ignores enemy DEF scaling through transformative reaction mechanics. Damage formula: Level Multiplier × EM Multiplier (1 + 16 × EM / (EM + 2000)) × 1.15 (Deepwood res shred) × Enemy Dendro RES modifier. At 1000 EM, the EM multiplier is ~5.35x. Base level multiplier at 90 is 1446. So: 1446 × 6.35 × 1.15 = 10,562. Against a standard 10% Dendro RES enemy: 10,562 × 0.9 = 9,506 per seed × up to 5 seeds per 1.5s = ~31K DPS from Kuki alone.

Flex Slot Options:

  • Yelan (best): Higher single-target DPS, double Hydro resonance (+25% HP for Yelan/Kokomi), generates more Dendro Cores
  • Alhaitham (Quickbloom): Alhaitham becomes the on-field driver with Nahida off-field; slower Hydro = some Quicken uptime for Spread damage
  • Kokomi: Comfort variant, on-field Hydro driver, massive healing
  • Fischl (C6): Additional Electro damage, but her A4 passive doesn't proc on Hyperbloom; mainly for energy and supplemental damage

Substitutions:

  • Nahida → Dendro Traveler (4pc Deepwood, ~200% ER) — loses ~30% team DPS but functional
  • Kuki Shinobu → Raiden Shogun (full EM build, Dragon's Bane R5) — higher trigger rate (every 0.9s vs Kuki's 1.5s), but requires a separate healer
  • Xingqiu → Yelan (loses defensive utility, gains damage)

Team 3: Freeze (Ayaka / Shenhe / Kazuha / Kokomi)

Freeze teams dominate when the Abyss features freezable enemies. The premium variant uses Ayaka as the main DPS with Shenhe for Cryo shred and Kokomi for AoE Hydro.

RoleCharacterKey GearKey StatsER Target

Hydro/HealKokomi4pc Tenacity of the Millelith, Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers R5HP / HP / Healing BonusN/A (burst-optional)

Rotation (20-second cycle):

  1. Shenhe E (tap) → Q (Divine Maiden's Deliverance — Cryo shred + Cryo DMG Bonus)
  2. Kazuha E (hold) → Q (swirl Cryo for VV shred + Kazuha's A4 DMG Bonus)
  3. Kokomi E (Kurage's Oath — AoE Hydro application + Tenacity 4pc ATK buff + TTDS buff)
  4. Ayaka dash (dodge into enemy for 18% Cryo DMG bonus from passive) → E → Q (Kamisato Art: Soumetsu)
  5. Shenhe E (tap again, if cooldown allows) during Ayaka's burst for additional Icy Quill procs
  6. Ayaka N2C spam until burst ends
  7. Battery phase: Shenhe E, Kazuha E, funnel particles to Ayaka
  8. Repeat

Why Freeze Works: Against freezable enemies (all humanoids, most elite enemies), Freeze is the safest team archetype. Blizzard Strayer 4pc provides 40% Crit Rate against frozen enemies + 15% from Cryo Resonance = 55% free Crit Rate. This lets Ayaka stack pure Crit DMG (240%+ is achievable). Shenhe's Icy Quills add flat damage to every Cryo hit — with 3500 ATK Shenhe, each Quill adds ~2,800 base damage × Ayaka's DMG% and Crit multipliers.

Substitutions:

  • Shenhe → Rosaria (C6) — provides Crit Rate share + physical RES shred with C6, ~15% team DPS loss
  • Kazuha → Sucrose (C6, TTDS) — loses ~20% team DPS, no grouping on burst
  • Kokomi → Mona (Prototype Amber for healing) — higher damage ceiling but no consistent healing
  • Ayaka → Ganyu (Morgana variant) — while functional, Ganyu Freeze has fallen off in recent Abyss cycles due to multi-wave enemy layouts that her quadratic scaling can't fully exploit

Team 4: Neuvillette Hyper (Neuvillette / Furina / Kazuha / Baizhu)

Neuvillette redefined what a hypercarry could achieve. His charged attack (Equitable Judgment) hits in a continuous beam covering a massive area with no ICD — meaning every tick triggers reactions.

RoleCharacterKey GearMain StatsER Target

Healer/ShielderBaizhu4pc Deepwood Memories / 4pc Ocean-Hued Clam, Jadefall's Splendor / Prototype AmberHP / HP / HP180%

Rotation (~25-second cycle):

  1. Furina E (Salon Members) — 3 pets active, start draining team HP
  2. Baizhu E → Q (Holistic Revivification) — team-wide heal to generate Furina Fanfare stacks
  3. Furina Q (Let the People Rejoice) — DMG% buff, max 75% at C0 with full Fanfare
  4. Kazuha E → Q (swirl Hydro for VV shred + DMG% buff)
  5. Neuvillette E → Q (O Tears, I Shall Repay) → Charged Attack (6 Sourcewater Droplets absorbed for instant charge) → hold CA for 3-second continuous beam
  6. Neuvillette 2nd Charged Attack (from E droplets or field droplets)
  7. Neuvillette 3rd Charged Attack (from remaining droplets)
  8. Refresh Furina's E at ~18 seconds
  9. Restart

Neuvillette CA Canceling: You can release the CA button as soon as the beam starts and it continues. This preserves stamina for dodging. Also, while beaming, you can press E or Q to cancel early if enemies die or repositioning is needed.

Alternative Healer — Xilonen (Version 5.x+): Replacing Baizhu with Xilonen (4pc Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City, full DEF build) provides 40% Hydro DMG bonus + enemy RES shred stacking with VV. No shield, so this is higher damage/higher risk.

Substitutions:

  • Furina → Mona (TTDS + 4pc Tenacity) — massive damage loss (~40%) but functional
  • Kazuha → Sucrose / Lynette — grouping downgrade
  • Baizhu → Charlotte (4pc Tenacity, full ATK) — budget healer for Furina Fanfare
  • Neuvillette has no true replacement — he IS the team

Team 5: Mualani Vape (Mualani / Xiangling / Kazuha / Zhongli)

Mualani introduced a unique playstyle: Sharky's Bite deals massive forward Vaporize damage to a single target, then bounces to nearby enemies for diminished damage. She front-loads all her damage into 3 bites per rotation.

RoleCharacterKey GearMain StatsER Target

Buffer/GrouperKazuha4pc Viridescent Venerer, Freedom-Sworn / Xiphos' MoonlightEM / EM / EM160%+
ShielderZhongli4pc Tenacity of the Millelith, Black Tassel / Favonius LanceHP / HP / HPMinimal

Rotation (18-second cycle):

  1. Zhongli hold E (shield + Tenacity 4pc buff)
  2. Xiangling E → Q (Pyronado — snapshot all current buffs)
  3. Kazuha E (tap) → Q (swirl Pyro for VV shred + A4 DMG bonus)
  4. Mualani E (enter Nightsoul state) → Surf toward enemies
  5. Mualani Bite 1: Full stack (3 Sharky stacks from movement) → massive forward Vaporize
  6. Mualani Bite 2: Re-stack via surfing, Bite again
  7. Mualani Bite 3: Final Bite before Nightsoul state ends
  8. Mualani Q (if available — large AoE Hydro nuke)
  9. Restart — battery Xiangling with Favonius procs from Zhongli and Kazuha

Critical Note — Xiangling ER: This is the most ER-demanding Xiangling variant in the game. At 240% ER with Favonius procs funneled to her, Pyronado comes back every rotation. Without Favonius, you need 280%+ ER or accept alternating rotations. Using an ER sands is mandatory.

Alternative: Dehya/Xiangling dual Pyro — Dehya (4pc Tenacity) replaces Zhongli for interruption resistance + additional Pyro application from her E (Fiery Sanctum). Lower survivability, higher Xiangling energy (Dehya generates some particles).

Substitutions:

  • Zhongli → Dehya (Pyro resonance + Tenacity buffer), Layla (Cryo shield, occasional Freeze)
  • Kazuha → Sucrose (EM share buffs Vaporize multiplier)
  • Mualani cannot be replaced — her Nightsoul/Surf/Bite kit is unique

Team 6: Arlecchino Mono Pyro (Arlecchino / Bennett / Kazuha / Xiangling or Zhongli)

Arlecchino (The Knave) scales purely off ATK and her Bond of Life mechanic. Mono Pyro leverages her massive multipliers without relying on reactions.

RoleCharacterKey GearMain StatsER Target

Rotation (with Xiangling — 21-second cycle):

  1. Arlecchino E (All is Ash) — apply Blood-Debt Directive to enemies
  2. Bennett E → Q — ATK buff
  3. Kazuha E (tap) → Q — swirl Pyro, VV shred
  4. Xiangling E → Q — Pyronado snapshots Bennett buff
  5. Arlecchino CA (absorb Blood-Debt Directives → Bond of Life conversion)
  6. Arlecchino N3D × N cycles — her optimal combo string: 3 normal attacks + dash cancel, repeat; her N3 deals the most damage per hit at C0
  7. At ~35% Bond of Life remaining, Arlecchino Q (Balemoon Rising) — nuke + healing + reset
  8. Repeat from step 1

Rotation (with Zhongli — defensive variant, 20-second cycle):

  1. Zhongli hold E — shield
  2. Arlecchino E — apply Blood-Debt Directive
  3. Bennett E → Q
  4. Kazuha E → Q — VV shred
  5. Arlecchino CA → N3D combo × 6-7 cycles
  6. Arlecchino Q at BoL depletion
  7. Repeat

Arlecchino Mechanics Note: Arlecchino CANNOT be healed by other characters in combat (only her own Q heals her). Bennett's burst provides ATK but no healing to her. This means Zhongli's shield is highly valuable for comfort. Dodging is essential in the Xiangling variant.

Substitutions:

  • Kazuha → Sucrose (TTDS, EM share)
  • Xiangling → Dehya (Tenacity buffer + interruption resistance during Arlecchino's field time)
  • Without Bennett, mono Pyro loses its core buffer — switch to Arlecchino Overload (Chevreuse, Fischl, Beidou)
  • Arlecchino → Hu Tao (similar function but different mechanics — see Hu Tao DPS Build Guide)

How to Choose Your Two Teams

  1. Mix reaction archetypes: Don't run two teams that need the same supports. If Team 1 uses Bennett, Team 2 shouldn't need him.
  2. Cover elemental checks: Ensure both teams can handle common Abyss shields — at least one team should have fast elemental application (Hyperbloom/Nilou Bloom for Baptist shields).
  3. Floor 12-3 specifics: Check the current Abyss blessing and enemy lineup before committing. If 12-3-2 is a single boss, run your highest DPS single-target team there.

Recommended Two-Team Pairings:

  • Neuvillette Hyper (Side 1) + Raiden National (Side 2) — covers Hydro and Pyro checks
  • Hyperbloom (Side 1) + Ayaka Freeze (Side 2) — no overlapping supports
  • Mualani Vape (Side 1) + Hyperbloom (Side 2) — both sides have high single-target
